Just something i thought was kinda funny, whenever they talk about sex they call it a poke. Also lorena calls a penis a carrot. i know thats random but it's still funny.

about Lonesome Dove

This book was written by Larry Mcurtry and won the Pulitzer prize. it is actually a really good book and i would recommend it to anyone who has a lot of time on their hands because this book is huge. ive read like 215 pages and almost nothing has happened. Anyways the book is really well written, i don't know exactly what makes good writing but i think if you dont notice the writing then it's a good writing. Sometimes i almost forget im reading because the book is so detailed. i can picture everything perfectly, i wouldn't want to see the movie because i feel like it would ruin the book. Probably the best part about this book are the character's, every character that is in the book is described so well you really get a sense for who they are. even the old guy who hangs out at the saloon named lippy is described very well, almost so well i could right a paper on him.

summary

First i have to give a brief summary. So this book takes place in a town called Lonesome Dove which is on the border of texas and mexico. The two main characters are Augustus and Call, even though i really cant call them the main characters because almost every person with a name in this book is a main character. These two guys ran the Hat Creek outfit, which is not really much of anything. One day one of their old friends comes to Lonesome Dove and tells them how great montana is. so then they decide to go to montana, now your were i am in the book.
